The Teranex Mini's compact size makes it ideal for portable racks at live events or in broadcast trucks. Up to three units can be easily mounted in an optional 19-inch 1U rack tray and removed just as easily, all while featuring 12G-SDI capability. An Ethernet port on the back allows you to remotely manage the Teranex Mini or can be used for Power over Ethernet (PoE). If you don't want to use PoE, you don't have to deal with cumbersome power supplies, as the Teranex Mini features built-in 90-240V power supply. All you'll need is a standard IEC power cable, sold separately.
The Teranex Mini's key feature is that the standard front panel can be replaced with an optional Smart Panel, which features a rotating handle, a color LCD screen, and six control buttons, including a Menu button. The extra-large LCD screen displays the video conversion process in progress and allows you to monitor audio levels, as well as check the timecode and video standard being converted. The standard front panel simply pops off, and the Smart Panel clicks into place with ease. When using the standard front panel, you have access to a set of small switches that allow you to instantly change settings according to the printed diagram on the switch. If you swap in the optional Smart Panel, you can instead use simple on-screen menus and see exactly what you are converting. If you have a larger facility that uses multiple switches, you can manage them all via Ethernet from a Mac or Windows computer using the included Converter Utility software.
