Featuring a revamped optical design, the Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L III USM is a workhorse wide-angle zoom and a member of the popular L-series of lenses. Featuring a series of specialized elements, this lens uses three aspherical elements and two Extra-low Dispersion glass elements to control a variety of aberrations for a high degree of sharpness and clarity. SWC and ASC coatings have also been applied to the elements to reduce lens flare and ghosting for increased contrast and color fidelity.

Complementing its optical prowess, a ring-type ultrasonic motor delivers fast, smooth, and near-silent autofocus performance, further benefited by full-time manual focus operation and an internal focus design. The lens is both water- and dust-resistant, and fluorine coatings have been applied to the front and rear elements to protect against fingerprints and smudges from affecting image quality.
