This book sheds light on the saying "Cinema is an invention without a future" and discusses the circumstances in which it was said, coinciding with the birth of cinema, the historical context of the beginnings and then the tremendous development on the technical, artistic and commercial levels, and the continuity of the film industry. The book restores the consideration of the saying after nearly 127 years have passed since the birth of cinema; and asks: Have the old predictions come true? And is cinema really an invention without a future?
The book is divided into two chapters, and focuses mainly on two important stages, which are:
First , the early beginnings from 1895 AD to 1910 AD. This stage answers important questions about the reasons that led to the emergence of cinema? What is cinema? How was the concept of cinematic film formed? What is the idea of cinematography? What were the purposes for which cinema was used? What were the most prominent challenges? How was cinema distinguished by its artistic independence despite its strong connection between the novel and the theater? What are the basic components that the industry relied on and led to its prosperity?
Second , the state of cinema today, starting from 2010 AD until the near future.
