The Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L III USM lens features a redesigned optical architecture and is a wide-angle zoom lens, a cornerstone of the renowned L-series. This lens boasts a series of specialized elements, employing three aspherical elements and two extra-low dispersion (ED) glass elements to control a wide range of aberrations for exceptional sharpness and clarity. SWC and ASC coatings have also been applied to the elements to minimize lens flare and ghosting, further enhancing contrast and color accuracy.
The annular ultrasonic motor, complementing its optical prowess, delivers fast, smooth, and virtually silent autofocus performance, further enhanced by the continuous manual focus function and internal focusing design. The lens is both water and dust resistant, and fluorine coatings have been applied to the front and rear elements to protect against fingerprints and smudges that could affect image quality.
